A Passage to India focuses on Britain and its oversea colony India. It skillfully describes the conflict and tension between two countries with different culture and race. The paper aims at an analysis of cultural conflict and unity in A Passage to India from the postcolonial interpretation. The reasons of conflict are different religion and unequal nation relationship—sovereign state and colonial country. The reason why culture unity failed is that the unfair relationship between British and Indian. Only based on the equal relationship, can they establish peaceful relationship.
