ClassicalChinese poetry is a brilliant reflection of the traditional Chinese culture. As the most distinguished Chinese Romantic Poets in Tang Dynasty, Li Po creates many formed images in his poetry, and the translator should convey Li Po’soriginal artistic concept in another language. Based on this, a case study of the Chinese scholar Xu Yuanchong’s translation should play the role of a good learner who conveys the image in LiPo’s poetry. This thesis focus on the translation of image in the poetry by Xu,in order to bring reference and enlightenment for the translation of Chinese Classical Poetry.
