This thesis mainly analyzes the translation strategies when we translate traditional Chinese culture into the target language under the adaption quality of Verschueren's adaptation theory. It discusses the costume translation in A Dream of Red Mansions. We must adapt both macro and micro linguistic contexts, linguistic structures as well as the custom constituents of the source language and the target language, and adopt dynamic translation methods.
