Film is an important carrier of world cultural exchange.The international spread

of excellent films cannot be separated from subtitle translation. Thetheory of ecological translation introduces the "selection" theory ofDarwin's biological evolution and constructs the adaptation and selectiontheory of translation, which holds that the translator is in the centralposition in the whole translation biology system and translation is thetranslator's adaptation and selection to the ecological environment oftranslation. The ecological environment of translation refers to the worldrepresented by the source language and the target language, which is the wholeinteracted by various factors such as language, culture and society. Itemphasizes the choice and adaptation of translators. The translator's choicemeans that under the circumstance of fixed source language environment, thetranslator needs to interpret the original text correctly and then choose theappropriate translation.
