β-环糊精是由7个葡萄糖单元通过ɑ-1,4-糖苷键连接形成低聚糖,它是三种环糊精中最易制得、廉价且应用最多的,其内腔疏水,能与许多有机物结合形成主客体络合物,外侧存在大量羟基呈亲水性,这种特殊结构使β-环糊精在药物控制释放、化学分离提纯和环境保护等领域有广泛应用。

β-环糊精可与其极性相似、分子大小与其空腔尺寸相匹配的不同类型的分子形成包结物,包结物具有比客体分子更优异的性能,例如,能够提高客体分子溶解性和稳定性、控制客体分子的挥发性和升华性等。

纤维素是一种天然高分子,来源丰富。
