The pharmaceutical value of alloferon has been well demonstrated by its capacity to stimulate NK cytotoxic activity and interferon (IFN) synthesis in animal and human models, as well as to enhance antiviral and antitumor activities in mice. Based on experimental and clinical studies, alloferon-1 can be attributed as an immunomodulatory peptide although differing in its origin, molecular structure and presumable mechanism of action from the known immunotropic biologicals like cytokines, chemokines, interferons, therapeutic antibodies etc suppression of herpes simplex virus in vitro proliferation, deblocking of NF-kB mediated signaling pathway and modification of proinflammatory. However, the signaling pathway of alloferon remains unclear. In this study, we aim to further illustrate the anti-inflammation effect of alloferon by skin injury model.
