This essay mainly compares two movies --‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and ‘Go Lala Go’. It aims to research on the images of successful working women in Chinese and American movies. It consists of five parts. The first part will focus on clarifying the research background and meaning, introducing the structure of this paper. Secondly, the paper will analyze the two films-from different aspects: the themes; the similarities and differences; the different working atmosphere we can feel from the two films. Thirdly, the emphasis will be the comparison and analyses of the two successful working women’s images, discussing the elements relating to their success.The essay basically analyzes the different cultural values the two movies represent.
